Along with the ASU offer, Irby has one from California, Michigan and Ole Miss. He says he also has interest in Notre Dame, USC, Oregon State, Oregon, Texas, Arizona, Stanford and UCLA.
The Sun Devils offered Irby specifically as an H-Back, while the other schools are looking at him as a linebacker, fullback or even a tight end.
"I could play on either side so I'll have to decide where I'm going to play," said Irby.
When it comes to having a list of favorites, Irby named Arizona State, Notre Dame, Texas and USC, but said he has a long ways to go before he makes a decision.
"I'm pretty open right now," Irby said. " I just want to go through the whole process, take some time, take some trips. I'm not going to decide for a while."
Arizona State, though, does seem to have a clear early edge. Irby said, "I lived in the Phoenix area until last year and ASU was the first school to offer me. I like ASU a lot right now. But I'm looking at some other schools too."
Irby plans to unofficially visit ASU this spring, and was invited to USC's Junior Day next month.
Last season, Irby had 41 catches for 658 yards and 7 touchdowns at the tight end spot, and added 17 carries for 153 yards and three touchdowns from the fullback position.
Irby is scheduled to attend the Scout.com Combine in May and the Nike Camp next month.
Academically, Irby has a 3.5 GPA and will take the SAT later this spring.
