"I've got like 11-12 offers," said Griffen. "I'm not deciding anything until after I take my official visits. I'm not going to take any unofficials, just official trips."
Griffen said he had four schools that stood out for him above the rest: the two in-state schools and the two Los Angeles schools.
However the likelihood of him leaving the West is a long shot.
"I'm pretty set on playing in the Pac-10. I want to be kind of close to home so my mom can come and watch my games," Griffen said.
Last month, Griffen made the trek west to Westwood for UCLA's Junior Day.
"It was nice, they were hitting each other during practice and we got to watch that. I got to take a tour of the campus and meet the coaches. I met Coach (Dino) Babers, Coach (Karl) Dorrell and Coach (Todd) Howard. We all got along real well," said Griffen.
A two-way player, Griffen played both defensive end and running back for Agua Fria. He finished with 47 tackles, five sacks and three fumble recoveries. Offensively, he ran for 794 yards and had 168 through the air with nine touchdowns total.
Griffen was set to attend the Nike Camp last weekend in Los Angeles, but has been busy throwing for the Agua Fria track program. He will be at the Scout.com Combine in Los Angeles next month, the only combine he will attend this year.
He will also be at UCLA, USC and Arizona's camps this spring and summer, either their 1-day and contact camps.
The day before the Scout.com Combine, he will take the SAT. Currently, Griffen has a 3.3 GPA.
