Lone Star Receiver Has West Coast Interest

The nation's number two receiver, Hempstead (Texas) product Terrance Toliver, has 17 scholarship offers while waiting for the in-state powerhouse to extend him one, and the pass-catcher has interest in a pair of West Coast schools...

Hempstead (Tex.) receiver Terrance Toliver (6-5, 185) was just ranked as the No. 2 receiver nationally earlier this week by Scout.com, given a five-star ranking. He's also been given a boatload of scholarship offers.

One school who has been showing a strong amount of interest in him of late has been UCLA, and while Toliver didn't have the Bruins in his top seven, he did say that an offer from UCLA could change things.

"Oh I would be interested in UCLA if they offered," said Toliver. "I talked with Coach (D.J.) McCarthy and he said that they want to see my SAT before they offer."

Already, he has quite the offer list, holding 17 total, including ones from Miami, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Texas Tech.

"I'm pretty wide open, but I like Miami, A&M, Oklahoma and Tech from my offers," said Toliver.

Two schools he's hoping to receive offers from, and soon, are the two teams who played in the Rose Bowl.

"USC is one of my favorite schools. Texas, man I'm hoping for one from Texas. My family, they want me to stay in state," said Toliver.

A decision from Toliver wont be coming any time soon.

"I going to take all of my visits. I might make it a little earlier, but I want to see all the schools I can before I decide," said Toliver.

Toliver said he was hoping to camp at LSU, Miami and USC. If he camps at USC, he said he would like to try to take a quick visit to UCLA. "Transportation is the big thing for me to get out there," said Toliver.

Earlier this spring, Toliver attended the Nike Camp at College Station, and he ran a 4.4 in the forty.

Academically, Toliver has a 3.09 GPA and will take the SAT in the fall.
