Zeigler Gets CMU Job

UCLA assistant basketball coach Ernie Zeigler had been one of three finalists for the vacant head coaching job at Central Michigan and sources are indicating that the Detroit native will be named the head coach Thursday officially by CMU. Who is thought to be in line to replace Zeigler at UCLA?

According to sources, UCLA assistant basketball coach Ernie Zeigler will be the new head coach at Central Michigan.

It was learned Wednesday that Zeigler had agreed to terms with officials at Central Michigan.

Other sources are indicating that the deal is not quite finalized.

Zeigler came to UCLA with Head Coach Ben Howland three years ago. He's originally from Michigan, which was part of the appeal for the hire.

Most sources close to the UCLA basketball program believe Scott Garson, UCLA's video coordinator, to be the leading candidate to fill the vacant assistant coaching job.
