Archbishop Mitty def. Mountain View (Calif.) St. Francis, 28-14
Linebacker Steve Sloan, playing with a cast on his broken right hand, had 12 tackles in Mitty's 28-14 win over St. Francis. Sloan also had a fumble recovery for the Monarchs, ranked 7th in their region. St. Francis, led by tight end Rhett Ellison, was ranked second.
St. Augustine def. Crawford, 39-6
Quarterback Chris Forcier was 5-for-16 for 118 yards and threw three touchdowns for the Saints, who bounced back from their first loss last week. Forcier also ran for a 2-point conversion. Up next for St. Augustine is a FSN televised game against Servite this weekend.
Long Beach Poly def. Mira Mesa, 13-6
The Marauders dropped their fourth straight contest, this one a 28-7 loss to La Costa Canyon. Nate Chandler had a pair of catches and Marques Simas had four.
Buchanan def. Fresno Edison, 38-35 (OT)
For the third straight week, the Tigers dropped a close one, losing to Clovis East 28-22. Courtney Viney, who has two interceptions and a punt return for a touchdown, held his receiver without a catch.
San Diego (Calif.) Hoover def. San Diego (Calif.) Southwest, 34-7
UCLA recruit Todd Doxey had another monster game, scoring on a 77-yard touchdown pass and taking a punt back 85 yards for a score as the Cards cruised to a 34-7 victory. Hoover hosts Mission Bay on Friday
Birmingham def. Dorsey, 38-25
Junior running back Milton Knox ran for 153 yards on 24 carries and scored a touchdown in the Patriots 13-point win over the Dons. Knox was playing with a tender ankle, but finished with his fourth 150-yard night of the season. Junior Johnathan Franklin, who missed time with a minor back injury, rushed for 42 yards on seven carries and scored a touchdown for the Dons. In his place, junior John Roberson rushed for 70 yards on 12 carries and also took a kick back 75 yards for a touchdown. Junior safety Rahim Moore had seven tackles, despite being out for much of the second half with severe cramps (Note: We attended this game, and will have clips this week)
Loyola def. Dominguez, 14-10
The defending Division I champs knocked off the defending Div. III champs in a thriller at Glendale College. Chris Conte scored a 30-yard touchdown for the Cubs. Marcus Darden rushed for 129 yards for the Dons.
Rio Mesa def. Nordhoff, 51-27
Malachi Lewis had 143 yards in offense and scored three touchdowns, including a 91-yard reception for the Spartans, who bounced back from their first loss of the season a week ago.
Notre Dame def. Saugus, 56-33
Shane Horton was 7-for-16 for 73 yards but threw three touchdown passes in the Knights win. Horton also rushed for 169 yards on 10 carries and rushed for a touchdown. Mike Stanton had three catches for 37 yards and a touchdown.
Upland def. San Gorgonio, 44-21
Devin Mahina had three tackles for loss and a reception in the Highlanders 23-point win. Up next for Upland is a game with Ontario (Calif.) Colony.
Temecula (Calif.) Chaparral def. Corona Santiago, 24-7 Ryan McCants rushed for only 65 yards on 13 carries and was kept out of the end zone in the Sharks second loss in as many weeks.
Scripps Ranch def. Kearny, 44-7
Tate Forcier threw four touchdown passes and ran in a 2-point conversion for the Falcons in an easy win.

Other Games of Note Junior defensive end Jamaar Jarrett had two sacks in Mission Hills 21-7 win over Valley Center. Ryan Bass ran for four touchdowns in Corona (Calif.) Centennial's 34-31 win over Clovis East. E.J. Woods rushed for 31 yards and a score in Crespi's 40-14 loss to St. Bonaventure. Titus Young went over the 100-yard mark for the third time this year, and scored a touchdown in University's 27-0 win over Monroe. Lance Mitchell was 11-for-22 for 172 yards and scored the winning touchdown in overtime for Muir in their 28-27 win over Burbank.
