Edgar Garibay, 6-10 JR C Compton (Calif.) High, isn't well known outside of the west, but he's showing signs that he could be the top prospect at his position in the West Coast class of 2008.

Garibay has really improved his offensive game in recent months and he has a nice stroke out to the stripe. With a great frame, and good feet and hands, Garibay has the potential to be an elite prospect.

We spoke with Garibay last night after a fall league game and asked him about the schools that have been out to his high school recently.

"Louisville, Arkansas, New Mexico, UNLV, Arizona State, UCLA, USC, Clemson, Washington State, Washington, Marquette, Georgetown and Stanford," said Garibay.

When asked if he's particularly high on any program at this time, Garibay said, "Louisiville, Georgetown, USC, Stanford...those are some of them."

Garibay talked a little about what he's looking for in a college.

"A good staff that will help me develop and get better...good facilities...someplace with a history and tradition," said Garibay.

We asked Garibay if location will play a role in his choice.

"I've been talking to my family and they'd like for me to stay out here," said Garibay. "But to me it doesn't really matter -- I guess it would be a plus if everything else was good."

Garibay said he doesn't see himself picking a school in the near future.

"I'll probably decide after next summer," said Garibay.

Garibay told us he has a 3.5 GPA and he'll take the SAT in December.
