Kevin Love Watch: Coming to Town

The biggest recruit for UCLA to get in many years, 6-9 center Kevin Love, currently ranked the #1 post player in the nation, will come to UCLA this Friday with his Lake Oswego team to play in an event, marking the first time he'll actually play in Pauley Pavilion...

Kevin Love, the 6-9 center from (Ore.) High who is committed to UCLA, scored 36 points and had 19 rebounds to lead his team to a win over the top-ranked school in Washington Saturday.

Lake Oswego beat the defending Washington 4-A champion, Seattle Franklin, 69-62, in the marquee game of the Les Schwab Hoop Challenge at Bellevue Community College.

Love was impressive, in one sequence running down court fast enough to beat the Franklin defense for a breakaway dunk, and in another, whipping a back-door bounce pass from about halfcourt for an assist.

Earlier in the week, Love got 28 points in a blow-out win against Burien (Ore.) Kennedy, 71-43.

The Lakers, the returning Oregon state champion, are 3-0 to start the season.

Love is averaging 34 points and 20 rebounds per game.
