Official Visits for the Weekend

UCLA, as of right now, has 10 recruits taking their official visits to Westwood this weekend, including one from out of state, and possibly one more. It's one of UCLA's biggest weekends of the recruiting season, and much could be decided after the weekend's over...

It's thought that UCLA will have ten -- and possibly 11 -- prospects take their official visits to Westwood this weekend.

It's a big weekend for the committed recruits to visit, but there are also uncommitted recruits taking official visits

Mike Harris, OT, Duarte (Calif.)
. Considered a soft verbal, since he's almost certain he'll grey shirt. The situation will be firmed up this weekend.

Chris Conte, S, Los Angeles Loyola. Conte is verbally committed to Cal, but has been showing interest in UCLA since last summer, recently visiting practices. It wouldn't be a surprise if he switched his pledge to UCLA after this weekend.

Glenn Love, S, Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton. It looks like UCLA is, indeed, bringing in Glenn Love for the weekend. He was schedule to visit Cal this weekend, but changed it to UCLA. He visited UCLA unofficially the weekend of the USC game.

Remaining Possibility:

Devin Mahina, TE, Upland (Calif.). He had planned previously to visit UCLA officially this weekend, but we've heard it's uncertain now.

Committed Players Taking Visits this Weekend:

Brian Price, DT, Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw
Raymond Carter, RB, Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw
Courtney Viney, CB, Fresno (Calif.) Edison
Nate Chandler, TE, San Diego (Calif.) Mira Mesa
Chris Forcier, QB, San Diego (Calif.) St. Augustine
Steve Sloan, LB, San Jose (Calif.) Archbishop Mitty
Akeem Ayers, LB, Los Angeles (Calif.) Verbum Dei

The weekend will be key for keeping Price and Ayers, particularly, in the fold, since they are still being recruited by USC.

In keeping track of UCLA's other prospects and what they're doing this weekend, a pair of UCLA's targeted prospects will be taking official visits to other schools.

Des Moines (Iowa) Lincoln safety Jordan Bernstine, who visited UCLA officially the first weekend in December, will take his fifth, and final trip, to Pittsburgh this weekend.  It was significant that Bernstine visited Iowa, his suspected leader, last weekend and didn't commit.

Long Beach (Calif.) Poly cornerback Donovan Warren will be taking his official visit to USC.  This will be Warren's fourth visit and he'll take his last one next month when he visits UCLA January 12th.
