Davis Picks Ducks Over Bruins

Drew Davis, the 6-1, 210-pound wide receiver prospect from Denver (Col.) Montbello, announced at a press conference this morning that he'll be an Oregon Duck.

His choice came as a surprise. In recent weeks it was thought California had been leading for the big, strong receiver, but in the last few days there were pretty strong indications that UCLA had taken the lead. Most recruiting experts thought Oregon was running third, with Washington fourth.

UCLA's Head Coach Karl Dorrell had an in-home visit with Davis earlier this week, and there were rumors that Davis had indicated to Dorrell that he was coming to UCLA.

Davis was a significant loss for the Bruins, who, with limited scholarships, could have really used an impact receiver in this class.
