Fox Sports, which holds the television contract with the Pac-10, had committed to air the Washington/Arizona game in that time slot.
UCLA asked Fox Sports for a waiver to have the game televised by some other entity, but Fox denied the waiver. Fox asked Oregon State to move up the game, to a 5:30 start time, but OSU refused.
So, it looked like a game being played by the #1 team in the country wouldn't be aired.
There was apparently enough media attention, however, that Fox Sports announced Wednesday that it will carry the game on Fox Sports Prime Ticket and, in the state of Oregon, on FSN Northwest. The telecast will begin at 7:00 p.m.
"We thank Fox Sports Net and FSN Prime Ticket for deciding to show the fans in Los Angeles this important Pac-10 game," said associate athletic director Marc Dellins. "Even though FSN is televising another game on a national basis, they recognized the opportunity to showcase the nation's No. 1 team in the local marketplace and made the decisions necessary to make it happen. This is a great service to Bruin fans throughout Southern California."
