Safety Prospect Makes Decision

From being injured as a junior and under the radar early as a senior, to being one Arizona's most recruited players, 6-4, 205-pound safety prospect Glenn Love from Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton, told us he made his decision Friday...

Athletes.

Big-time schools crave them and UCLA just got a big-time athlete when safety Glenn Love from Hamilton HS (Chandler, AZ) committed to the Bruins.

Love text-messaged us this morning to tell us that he verbally committed to UCLA.

The 6-4 205-pound Love chose UCLA over offers from Arizona, Arizona State, California, Michigan, Nevada and UTEP.

Love was a virtual unknown coming into his senior season as he missed his entire junior year with an injury. But it did not take long for schools to start jumping on the bandwagon.

We were in attendance to watch Love play in week one against Red Mountain HS (Mesa, AZ). You could tell he hadn't put on the pads in a while but you could also see that he had the raw potential to be a very good college safety. He recorded five tackles and an interception in that game. As the season progressed, so did his play and as his play progressed, so did his scholarship offers.

Love was dominant in the 5A state title game against Mt. View HS (Mesa, AZ). He recorded nearly a dozen tackles, two interceptions and blocked a field goal. By that time, nearly half of the Pac 10 was courting him for his services. He no longer had any rust to shake off.

Bruins fans should be happy as their program landed one of the state of Arizona's top players.
