After committing to California during the summer, Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola defensive back Chris Conte (6-3, 185) still maintained some interest in UCLA, attending some fall practices and UCLA home games.

Conte took an official visit to UCLA in December and laid low since then, wrestling with the decision to stay committed to Cal or switch his verbal to UCLA.

On Saturday, Conte finally made that decision and told Scout.com of his choice.

"I committed to UCLA," said Conte, who was just beginning a track workout.

We will have more from Conte later.

This past season, Conte had 58 tackles and four interceptions as a defensive back and, as a wide receiver, 43 catches for 614 yards and five touchdowns.
