Update on Some Texas Prospects

UCLA is recruiting Texas pretty heavily. Here's a quick update on some prospects in Texas and UCLA's chances...

Note: This is not a comprehensive report on all the prospects that UCLA is recruiting in Texas. Just an update on a few.

Steven Coleman, DT, 6-5, 283, Dallas Skyline. He hadn't spoken with UCLA, but didn't know if they had called since he hadn't been home much. He has set up two visits, with Miami and Colorado in December, but declined to reveal a list of leaders.

Tarell Brown, CB, 5-11, 180, Mesquite North Mesquite. UCLA has attempted to call him but hasn't spoken with him yet. Brown had listed Florida State, Florida, Ohio State, Texas, Texas A&M and UCLA recently. He said he likes UCLA but his parents are saying California is too far away. He said when he speaks to the UCLA coaches he was going to tell them he was no longer interested.

Xavier Lawson-Kennedy, DT, 6-3, 305, Duncanville High. He insists he's wide open and he's received 60 scholarship offers. He wouldn't commit to a favorites list. He did say he would take as many trips as possible and wait until signing day to announce. His father said the family really likes Oklahoma, and his parents prefer he stay close to home.

Demarrio Pleasant, LB, 6-3, 220, Lewisville High. He's not giving up anything about his recruitment, not even speaking about which colleges had called him. UCLA is on the latest list he gave a reporter, including six other schools.

Alonzo Dotson, DE, 6-4, 225, Elief Hastings. His grandmother is fielding his calls so he wasn't sure what schools had called, including UCLA. He said he is still very interested in UCLA and will visit December 13th, and it's his only set visit to date. His top six are UCLA, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan State and Miami.
