UCLA took to Spaulding Field on Thursday for their opening practice of spring football.

It was also the first time for three of UCLA's newest coaches, offensive coordinator Jay Norvell, offensive line coach Bob Connelly and receivers coach Eric Scott.

Scott, in fact, was getting very involved in his first practice at UCLA since he was a senior 10 years ago. He was returning punts, even getting tackled and was doing a lot of teaching and instructing and getting after his receivers.

Several recruits were in attendance, including a handful of the commits. UCLA's five-star defensive tackle recruit, Brian Price, was also there, following the defensive line around and chatting up with coach Todd Howard.

Commits in attendance:
E.J. Woods, S, Crespi
Datone Jones, DE, Compton
Johnathan Franklin, S, Dorsey
Rahim Moore, S, Dorsey
Uona Kaveinga, LB, Leuzinger

Uncommitted prospects:
Milton Knox, RB, Birmingham
Malik Jackson, DE, Birmingham
Marquis Jackson, DE, Birmingham
Donovan Carter, LB, Birmingham
Mychal Rivera, TE, Birmingham
Ryan Katz, QB, Santa Monica
