Hodge is getting the attention of schools from across the country. "Schools began calling me on September 1st," Hodge said. "West Virginia is recruiting me the hardest right now, but I don't really have a top five schools."
In the course of discussing his schools, Hodge mentioned another in particular beside West Virginia. "UCLA has offered me, and I am certainly interested in them." Asked if he would like to take an official visit to Westwood, Hodge emphatically said, "Yes, sir." Hodge said he and his family have no problem with him attending school outside the state.
Hodge insisted that he wants to take his visits and wait until his football season is completed before making any decision on a college.
And he has certainly begun his senior campaign impressively in its first two weeks. In his first game of the season, he had three interceptions in Lake Highlands' 27-7 opening game victory. Hodge also caught two passes for 56 yards. In his second game this last weekend, which Lake Highland won 36-0, Hodge caught a 52-yard touchdown pass and returned an interception for 90 yards and a touchdown.
Even though he's an accomplished wide receiver, Hodge sees himself as a cornerback in college. "I prefer defense, and just about all the schools recruiting me want me for defense."
