Etiwanda Receiver Isn't Sleeper to Pac-10

You might not have heard about him that much, but 6-3, 180-pound wide receiver prospect Marvin Jones from Etiwanda (Calif.) High, was named to the first-team All-Underclass team over many other names you might know, and he's hearing from the Pac-10 and others...

Etiwanda (Calif.) receiver Marvin Jones (6-3, 180) was one of the premier underclass receivers a year ago and despite a long list of excellent junior pass-catchers, it was Jones who found himself selected as a First Team All-Underclass selection.

After a slow start to recruiting, Jones is finally starting to get some solid attention.

"I've been offered so far by Colorado, Arizona and Oregon State," said Jones. "Oregon State was the first school to offer me. I'm hearing the most from Colorado, and Arizona State has been talking to me a lot."

Jones said that he's also been getting letters from several in-state schools."California, USC, San Diego State and UCLA, I've been hearing from all of them," said Jones. "I went to USC for their spring practice and meetings and I was at the scrimmage at the Coliseum. It got me hyped."

Jones' top five was dominated by the Pac-10.

"My top five is Cal, USC, Oregon State, UCLA and Arizona," said Jones. "Colorado is right there, too, and San Diego State."

With three early offers and the spring and summer camps still on his schedule, Jones is in no rush to make a decision for his future. "By the end of the season, I'll see where I'm at and how everything goes," said Jones. "I want to wait it out as long as I can."

Jones was at the Nike Camp in Los Angeles two weeks ago and at the Scout Combine on Sunday at the Home Depot Center.

During his junior season, he had 63 receptions for 1,310 yards and scored 13 touchdowns.

Academically, he has a 2.5 GPA and is taking the SAT in May.
