Those four are UCLA, USC, Miami and LSU. "All four have been calling regularly. I'm still getting calls from other schools as well, but I will be sticking to those four." Ellis had earlier mentioned the possibility of adding Oregon to his list, but he is not fond of artificial turf. He wants to play college ball on grass. "The turf is too much for me. I like grass."
Ellis has yet to set up any official visits, but he intends to take official visits to each of the four schools after the conclusion of his senior season. The Chino Cowboys opened the season last week with a 35-0 shutout of Pacific. Ellis, who played sparingly in the second half, still managed to excel. "I had ten tackles, two sacks and one caused fumble in the opener. That's it."
Ellis is coming off a junior season where he collected 110 tackles and 11 sacks, but he is determined to improve on those numbers as a senior. "I'm goal oriented, and I want to make this season even better than last year."
When asked about coaches recruiting him and who thus far has made the best impression while recruiting him, Ellis said, "I'm pretty much at the same place with all the coaches. Nothing much has changed."
