Prince Visits UCLA Again

Kevin Prince, the 6-3, 195-pound quarterback prospect from Encino (Calif.) Crespi, met with UCLA the UCLA coaches Wednesday afternoon on UCLA's campus for a second time within a week, and he tells us about the meeting and what he's thinking now...

Encino (Calif.) Crespi quarterback Kevin Prince (6-2.5, 195) picked up the scholarship offer he had been waiting for last Friday and, at the request of the UCLA coaches, he took an unofficial visit to Westwood on Wednesday.

"UCLA was great," said Prince. "I loved the campus. I met with Coach (Karl) Dorrell for a little but mostly with Coach (Jay) Norvell, Coach (Dino) Babers and Coach (Bob) Connelly. I met most of the others briefly."

And though he is excited about the offer, Prince isn't fully ready to make a commitment to the Bruins, or anywhere for that matter. "I didn't commit yet," said Prince. "I have to figure out the mission first."

Still, Prince said the unofficial visit to UCLA went well, and the Bruins remain in the lead, though is it 60-40 as he said on Tuesday?, "Yeah, something like that," he said.

So does Prince have a timeline for a decision? "Not at all," said Prince. "I have no idea when I will know."

Prince said he would also like to spend some time talking with current Bruin quarterback Ben Olson, who is a a veteran of an LDS mission. Prince said, "I'm going to meet with Ben after practice next week hopefully."

Last season, Prince threw for 1,422 yards on 112-of-197 passing and 12 touchdowns but the Celts relied primarily on a solid ground game. This year, the plan is to have more of a balanced offense.
