Freshman Brian Price Is Cleared

UCLA received some good news on Monday when they were told by the NCAA that Brian Price, the freshman defensive tackle, and crown jewel in the class of 2007, was certified and could rejoin the team.

Brian Price, the five-star defensive tackle from Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw, who signed with UCLA in February, has finally been certified by the NCAA Clearing House.

UCLA said in a statement: "Freshman defensive tackle Brian Price has been certified by the NCAA Clearing House and is eligible to compete. He will join the team immediately,"

Price practiced with the Bruins for a day before being pulled after Clearing House issues arose. He has been out of practice since.

UCLA, which begins classes next week, will have Price practicing immediately, and with the potential season-ending knee injury to Brigham Harwell, could see Price involved in the DL rotation after he finishes his NCAA-mandated five days of practice.

Price will likely not be active in a game until the Bruins visit Oregon State on September 29th.
