Dean Talks About Visit to UCLA

Katy (Texas) running back Aundre Dean, who was committed to UCLA for much of the year, then reopened his recruiting, took his official visit to UCLA this past weekend, and he talks about his trip to Westwood and his timetable on his decision...

Katy (Texas) running back Aundre Dean, the one-time commit to UCLA, took his fourth official visit this weekend, tripping out to Westwood.

"It went as good as I could have expected it to," said Dean. "It was a great trip. The schools was just like the first time I went, I loved it. They're doing some other things like renovating the stadium. But the campus was great."

Dean was hosted by the popular Aaron Ware, who has hosted numerous players in his three years at UCLA.

"Aaron was real cool, he and I hung out a lot. All of the players I met were great. There wasn't really one person who stood out. I met a lot of players, like Kahlil Bell and Nate Chandler was real cool. I also met Milton Knox and he's a real good guy. And Nick Crissman came up on Saturday to take the tour with me."

Dean had met new coach Rick Neuheisel earlier this month when he and Reggie Moore, the new receivers coach with Houston ties, took an in-home visit to Katy. This time, though, Dean got to meet new running backs coach Wayne Moses.

"Coach Moses is a good dude and Coach Moore, I really like him. They have a real good staff and all they want to do is win," said Dean. The whole coaching staff was fun. They want to win a championship and they told us they'll put the pieces in place and we've got to do our part to win it."

Dean was impressed, again, with Neuheisel.

"When I met him the first time, I really thought he was cool, and this time he impressed me a lot. He is a cool guy, real down to earth, and keeps it real. He's going to do good things," said Dean.

Dean said he's ready to get his decision over with but it may not be until Signing Day when he announces his final choice.

"I'm not sure yet when I'll actually announce," said Dean. "Maybe not till the Wednesday we sign. I'm not sure if I'll have any more in-home visits or take any more trips."

Dean did say that he's focusing on three main schools, with a fourth still a possibility.

"My main schools are Louisville, UCLA and Arkansas," said Dean. "I'm not sure about Texas A&M, but I'm still considering them."
