Monday Football Recruiting Reset

With Signing Day two days away, UCLA's recruiting class received another solid verbal from a soft commit, three more are still holding out on making their decision and the other remaining recruits update their plans...

Two days before Signing Day, UCLA received some good news when Johnathan Franklin, the three-star running back from Dorsey HS in Los Angeles, solidified his verbal to the Bruins.

"I solidified it today," said Franklin. "I'm solid and strong to UCLA."

Franklin will be one of 13 UCLA commits who will sign their letters-of-intent at a private ceremony in Los Angeles.

Milton Knox has gone "underground" since returning from South Bend, where he visited Notre Dame officially this last weekend, but talked to Mike Frank of Irish Eyes on Sunday.

Here is the latest: Knox Talks About Trip to Notre Dame.

Knox is expected to announce his decision on Wednesday evening on FSN Prime Ticket's HS Spotlight Show.

Datone Jones took a last-minute and quick official visit to Arizona State this past weekend, his third visit. Sources are indicating, though, that he's been cleared to sign with UCLA, and he's expected to sign on Wednesday with the Bruins.

Hamani Stevens took an unofficial visit to UCLA on Saturday, and reportedly, it went very well. Stevens met with the Bruin coaches prior to the basketball game, saw UCLA play Arizona, then had more meetings following the game. We're hearing he's going to commit to the Bruins, but he's not expected to announce until Wednesday.

As we reported last week, Uona Kaveinga and UCLA had gotten back in touch with each other, but have now gone their separate ways.

Lastly, we spoke with Robbie Boyer's father, Rob. Rick Neuheisel had an in-home visit with the Boyers last Thursday. Boyer said that Neuheisel offered him a preferred walk-on spot, and that Robbie would be choosing between that option at UCLA and that same option at USC, but won't decide for a few weeks.
