UCLA Defensive Coordinator DeWayne Walker spoke to us for approximately a half an hour recently about his preparations for spring practice.

Walker gets very in-depth about his personnel, and his expectations for them, position changes, a different approach with a different defense, and quite a bit more.

For some of this interview, Walker is talking while referring to a depth chart. So, we wanted to clarify a few points in the interview.

-- Jeff Miller at defensive tackle.

-- David Carter moved to defensive end.

-- John Hale to strongside linebacker.

-- Reggie Carter to middle linebacker.

-- Kyle Bosworth to weakside linebacker.

-- At one point, when Walker says they could move "him" back to SAM, he means Kyle Bosworth.

-- The walk-on linebacker referred to is Frank Guzman a transfer from Saddleback JC.

-- Michael Norris is penciled in as the starter at the cornerback position, opposite Alterraun Verner.
