Prospect Moving Up Charts

Brandon Myles, 5-9, 170 pound athlete from Carson (Calif.) put his name on the recruiting map a month ago when he rushed for 233 yards against one of the top teams on the West Coast, Los Alamitos (Calif.), in front of three Pac 10 schools. This past weekend, Myles was even better...

Myles was always projected to play cornerback but he's looking like one of the top running backs on the West Coast right now as well. He has tremendous speed and clocked a 4.53 in the 40 and a 4.34 in the shuttle at the SoCal Nike camp. As fast as that is, he plays even faster and has tremendous game speed.

Carson played Gardena this past week for the league championship and Myles was the player of the game rushing for 256 yards and three touchdowns on just 13 carries. This was all done on a rain and mud soaked field making the totals that much more impressive.

"I know there's a lot of good running backs in Southern CA but I can't imagine anyone is playing better than Brandon right now," Carson assistant coach Derek Collins. "He may not have the total yards as some players but his yards per carry are almost at 10 yards a pop. He's playing unbelievable."

Myles game against Los Al was witnessed by Cal, Arizona State and Oregon and since then, both the Bears and Ducks have offered as an athlete.

"Cal and Washington were at the game this past weekend," Myles said. "Things are going well for me right now and I'm just out there having fun doing my thing."

Myles has already taken an unofficial visit to Cal and is setting up an official visit to Oregon. He's also hearing from Oregon State, Washington and Tennessee.

"UCLA is still my leader, my dad (Benny) ran track there and I've always wanted to go there. I also like Cal, Oregon and Washington."

Carson will be on T.V this week against Banning on Fox Sports Net. Myles is hoping the exposure will be a great way to increase his recruiting stock a couple of notches.
