Speculation on Hoops Recruiting

Things change quickly in college recruiting. With J'mison Morgan getting the release from his NLI and leaning toward UCLA, and now the announcement that North Carolina's Alex Stepheson will transfer out of UNC, there's much to talk about on the BRO Message Board...

J'mison Morgan, the 6-10 senior center from Dallas (Tex.) South Oak Cliff, has been granted his release from his LSU National Letter of Intent.

As of last night, however, Morgan had not received a copy of the release and neither had UCLA.

UCLA is unable to recruit him until they get a copy of the release.

Morgan and his family have indicated in a variety of news stories that UCLA is his preferred destination.

Thursday it was also reported that Alex Stepheson, the 6-9 sophomore post player at North Carolina, intends to transfer out of UNC. (Official Release on Stepheson)

We reported on BRO during the college basketball season that there was a chance Stepheson could leave North Carolina.

As it's stated in the official release, one of the motivations of Stepheson, who is from the Los Angeles area, having attending Studio City (Calif.) Harvard-Westlake, is to move closer to his ill father.

Here is the latest thread we started on the BRO Premium Basketball message board discussing both developments and how they potentially affect each other: On Morgan and Stepheson
