Edwards Commits to UCLA

Diablo Valley (Calif.) College offensive lineman Donovan Edwards gave UCLA's offensive line depth a much needed boost, committing to the Bruins on Sunday evening...

After taking a visit to Washington State this week, his third official visit in a two-week span, Diablo Valley (Calif.) College offensive lineman Donovan Edwards made his decision, choosing a school he visited a week ago.

"I just committed today, I committed to UCLA," said Edwards . "It's a great environment with great coaches and I just wanted to be a Bruin."

Edwards said the opportunity to stay in-state played a big part in his decision.

"Since I'm from California I wanted to stay close to home," said Edwards. "And by going to UCLA, my mom will have the opportunity to see me play every game."

Though the proximity to UCLA for Edwards did play a role, he was impressed by his visit to Washington State.

"I really enjoyed my visit to Washington State and being around those coaches," said Edwards. "Coach (Paul) Wulff is definitely taking that program in the right direction."

Edwards commitment makes it two years in a row the Bruins' landed a JC transfer during the summer, last year it being linebacker Mike Schmitt.

He still has some work to complete to ensure fall registration, but Edwards' plan is to be on the UCLA campus come August.
