UCLA Workouts: Thursday Recap

UCLA's offense and defense went through individual drills during Thursday's informal workouts as the Bruins' prepare for Fall Camp, which begins early next month...

UCLA's informal workouts continued on Thursday at Spaulding Field.

The defense went through individual drills, pass coverages and also concentrated on zone defensive schemes.

The offense worked on pass patterns with the backs, receivers and tight ends. There was no 7-on-7 today as this workout seemed to be just a fine tuning before fall practice begins in August 5.

Some quick notes:

Osaar Rasshan participated in today's workout. It had been mentioned if he would be ready for camp after having off season knee surgery. After seeing him today, he looked very mobile and threw the ball well.

Antwon Moutra and Nelson Rosario have gotten a lot of praise this summer for their performance this summer. Another wide receiver that also deserves a little kudos is Terrence Austin. The last few weeks, Austin has caught the ball well and seems determined to make an impact this fall.

It wouldn't be a surprise to see the running backs in the passing game this fall. These workouts have shown that the backs are fully capable of making catches.

Raymond Carter doesn't seem to be favoring his repaired knee at all. He looked ready to push for that starting running back position.

Even with a nagging hamstring problem, Ryan Moya participated today without any problems.
