Edwards Switches, Goes to Cal

The JC offensive lineman, Donovan Edwards, from Diablo Valley (Calif.) College, who verbally committed to UCLA a month ago, now de-commits and immediately changes his pledge to the California Bears...

Donovan Edwards, the 6-5, 280-pound offensive line prospect who was expected to give UCLA's depleted offensive line a boost this fall, won't be coming to Westwood.

Edwards, from Diablo Valley (Calif.) College, has opted to go to California instead.

He said in a statement: "Making lifetime changing decisions are always hard, but one must do what's best for them. As you may know I verbally committed to UCLA after receiving scholarships offers from them, San Diego State, and Washington State. Although I committed to UCLA the opportunity to play at Cal opened up for me and after taking a official visit, I took the opportunity to become a California Golden Bear. UCLA was great but I personally believe Cal is what's right for me and only time will tell."
