Tyler Honeycutt saw his recruitment take off after an outstanding spring and summer. The elite senior forward has four schools at the top of his list...
, 6-8 SR SF Sylmar (Calif.) High, had a terrific spring and summer, as he showed off a unique set of skills. In addition to being a good shooter and excellent passer, Honeycutt might be the best shot-blocker in the west. Judging by his still developing frame, and youthful appearance, it's possible Honeycutt might still be growing.
Multiple schools have been in contact with Honeycutt, but his top four are UCLA, USC, Texas and Memphis, according to his mother Lisa Stazel.
Texas and Memphis have yet to offer, while the two local schools have extended scholarship offers. Honeycutt and his mother visited both USC and UCLA in the last week.
When I asked if there is a timeframe for a decision, Stazel replied, "We are just taking our time and weighing our options at this point. Possibly between now and November, but not sure yet. Ultimately the final decision is Tyler's."
A solid student, Honeycutt will have no trouble qualifying academically.
