West Rankings: PGs and SGs

The 2009 West Coast point guard list and the 2009 shooting guard list are topped by two guys who are best friends and high school and AAU teammates. There's a good amount of talent at the top of both lists...

Gaddy is the clear-cut choice for the top spot among the point guards.
A true point with a great feel, Gaddy makes everyone on his team
better. Johnson is an explosive athlete with a high upside. He's still
a little rough around the edges, but his potential is enormous. Thames
has great size for the position and he's a good athlete. He's not
a true one, but he can defend the position and has a chance to be a
very nice player down the road. Siva is another guy that is not a
true point guard, but he's an excellent shooter and good athlete.
Lawton is another scoring lead guard with tremendous quickness and
athleticism. He can get his shot whenever he wants and he is hard
to guard.

Bradley is the best all-around player in the class, with the ability
to impact the game at either end of the court. He's a terrific
defender with a great motor and he's really improved his shot in the
last year. Snaer has a very solid all-around game and he too has
become a much better shooter in the last year. Marshall is a very
good competitor, with toughness and the ability to impact the game
in a number of ways. Black is a long and rangy wing with a nice
stroke to the stripe. Mackie is a great athlete, with very good length
and quickness. He's still coming into his own, but he has considerable
