Tyler Honeycutt Decides on UCLA

Tyler Honeycutt, UCLA's big wing target for the 2009 class, who recently was ranked the 21st best player in the nation for 2009 by Scout.com, verbally commmitted to UCLA today...

Tyler Honeycutt, 6-8 SR SF Sylmar (Calif.) High, has committed to UCLA, according to his mother, Lisa Stazel.

"Tyler committed today to UCLA," said Stazel. "He's in school now, but if you'd like to speak with him he'll be available this evening."

Honeycutt has a unique combination of attributes at the small forward spot. He's got a nice stroke with deep range, a terrific feel for the game and he's an outstanding passer. However, Honeycutt is also a force at the defensive end, as he's one of the two best shot-blockers in the west (along with Anthony Stover).

Honeycutt, ranked #21 in the class of 2009 by Scout.com, saw his stock skyrocket after a series of impressive performances in the spring and summer. Multiple high major programs across the country began recruiting Honeycutt. His final list included USC, Memphis and Texas before he gave the verbal commitment to Ben Howland and the Bruins.
