"Fresno State offered me, they were my sixth offer," said Barnett.
The Bulldogs joined Minnesota, Boise State, UNLV, San Diego State and Washington.
Yet there are two Pac-10 schools that haven't offered him a scholarship that he's very interested in.
"I hope that more are coming," said Barnett. "UCLA and Oregon State are the two I'm waiting on. Oregon State wants to see more games at linebacker and Coach (Wayne) Moses from UCLA called me to say just hold on with them and don't make any quick decisions."
Which is exactly what Barnett plans to do. "I'll probably wait to hear from both of them," said Barnett. "I just don't want to wait too long, though."
In the meantime, Barnett is hoping to set up some of his official visits. "I plan to take some visits but I just haven't figured out which ones yet," said Barnett. "But I know I want to take a few of them."
"I'm trying to stay open and not name a favorite for right now," said Barnett.
Barnett and the Sharks bounced back from their season opening loss with a rout of La Quinta. He had a 26-yard reception and three tackles in the win. This last weekend, Santiago took on Temescal Canyon of Lake Elsinore.
He attended UCLA's season opening win over Tennessee and attended their game against Arizona Saturday.
Academically, Barnett carries a 3.3 GPA and achieved a qualifying score on the SAT.
