Here is a look back at Friday games involving UCLA commits and recruits in Week Three of the prep football season and how they performed.
Game of the Week: Ventura St. Bonaventure def. Encino Crespi, 31-14
A night before coming to the UCLA-Fresno State game, St. Bonaventure running back/safety Patrick Hall, who's a commit to USC, rushed for 146 yards, including a 53-yard touchdown and an 82-yard run for a score, and picked off a pass from junior quarterback Bryan Bennett to help the Seraphs avenge their lone loss from a year ago. Junior corner Troy Hill, who was also at the UCLA-Fresno State game, also had an interception. Bennett had a miserable night, going 9-for-26 for 76 yards and three picks.
Corona Centennial def. Fresno Clovis West, 42-7
UCLA-committed receiver Ricky Marvray had his most productive yardage performance of the year, catching three passes for 138 yards and a pair of touchdowns and Nebraska-bound quarterback Taylor Martinez threw five touchdown passes for 299 yards in the win over Clovis West. Senior running back Arthur Burns, who's interested in UCLA, ran for 111 yards on 20 carries.
St. John Bosco def. Loyola, 44-28
The Braves jumped out to a 41-7 lead and cruised from there in their surprising rout of Loyola in a Trinity-Serra League matchup. Washington commit Keith Price was 10-for-15 for 231 yards and four touchdowns for the Braves, while 2010 recruit Anthony Barr, a UCLA offer recipient, rushed for 167 yards on 25 carries and two touchdowns for the Cubs. Another 2010 prospect with aUCLA offer, Loyola tight end John Young, had four catches for 39 yards.
La Puente Bishop Amat def. La Verne Damien, 47-24
While Isaiah Bowens, the UCLA-committed linebacker remained sidelined with an injury, the Lancers, boasting Sheldon Price and Brent Seals, a UCLA commit and target respectively, jumped out to a big lead on Damien and cruised to the 23-point win to improve to 3-1.
Vista Murrieta def. Los Osos, 38-21
Vista Murrieta senior running back and UCLA prospect Bradley Randle rushed for 195 yards on 22 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead Vista Murrieta past Los Osos. UCLA's committed quarterback Richard Brehaut was 23-of-34 for 343 yards and a pair of touchdown passes and was 12-of-15 for 165 yards in the first half.
Mission Viejo def. Vista, 42-20
UCLA's committed cornerback Alex Mascarenas had another big night on offense, and also contributed on defense in the Diablos 42-20 win over Vista. Mascarenas had six catches for 134 yards, and two touchdowns, one an 82-yarder and Cal-bound quarterback Allan Bridgford was 18-for-30 for a Mission Viejo record 442 yards and four touchdowns in the rout.
Visalia El Diamante def. Fresno Central, 48-13
The vaunted Miners' rushing attack, behind one of the best offensive lines in the state, anchored by UCLA commit Greg Capella, had their third big game in a row. The Miners' senior running back Stefphon Jefferson rushed for 260 yards on 23 attempts, most off the blocking of Capella, and they increased their record to 3-0.
