Anthony Stover, 6-9 SR C Los Angeles (Calif.) Windward, has give a verbal commitment to UCLA.

Stover, one of the elite center prospects in the West Coast class of 2009, is the best shot-blocker in the west and he's made significant progress with his offensive game in the last year.

I spoke with Stover's mother, Rena, this morning regarding his decision.

"Anthony has committed to UCLA." said Mrs. Stover. "Anthony had so many great opportunities. But the top notch education at UCLA, the chance to play for an amazing staff -- and still be at home -- that was hard to pass up. Coach (Ben) Howland has seen Anthony's progress in the last year and his commitment to helping Anthony be the best player he can be was really important."

Stover also considered Creighton, Arizona State and Arizona prior to committing to the Bruins.
