Snaer Busy Taking Visits

Michael Snaer, the 6-4 prospect from Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde and one of the top shooting guards in the country, took his fourth official visit this past weekend -- to UCLA -- and he has another one lined up in a couple weeks...

Michael Snaer, 6-4 SR SG Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde, is one of the elite prospects in the class of 2009. A talented scorer, Snaer has good size and above average athleticism. He has a chance to be an impact player right away in college.

Snaer took a an official visit this past weekend to UCLA and I asked him how the visit went.

"It was cool – I had fun," said Snaer. "I already knew all the players and I had a lot of fun with them."

Snaer had previously taken official visits to Marquette, Missouri and Florida State. In two weeks, he'll take his final official visit to Kansas. I asked him if he thought he'd be ready to make a decision after the Kansas trip.

"I might, or I could take an unofficial visit to possibly either Cal or Memphis," said Snaer.

Now that he's taken several visits, I asked Snaer if he has a better feel for what he's looking for in a school.

"The main thing is the environment and then the players and staff," said Snaer. "How I fit into the program right away is also an important factor."

Assuming he doesn't take any more unofficial visits, I asked Snaer if he thought he'd be ready to choose a school shortly after the Kansas trip.

"Yes, if I don't take any other unofficial visits, I should be ready after the Kansas visit," said Snaer.
