Recap of UCLA Recruits on Friday

It isn't often when an offensive lineman gets recognized as the Player of the Game, but UCLA-committed Greg Capella did in his high school game Friday night, while a defensive end from Nevada that UCLA is pursuing also has a big night...

Here is a look back at games involving UCLA commits and recruits from last Friday, Week Four of the prep football season.

Game of the Week: Riverside J.W. North def. Corona Santiago, 14-11
UCLA recruit Emery Schexnayder, a 2010 prospect, rushed for 100 yards on 22 carries and scored a touchdown to lead the Huskies to a win over Santiago. Fellow UCLA recruits Marquise Cox and Maurice Cox and Lester White, paced a Husky defense that held Santiago to one touchdown and intercepted 2010 quarterback prospect Brandon Connette four times, including his first three passes.

Mission Viejo def. Murrieta Valley, 42-21
Cal commit Allan Bridgford threw for 230 yards and four touchdowns and UCLA-committed cornerback Alex Mascarenas helped the Diablos secondary control Murrieta Valley quarterback Lyle Negron and allow only 12 completions, while catching two touchdown passes from Bridgford to help the Diablos stay unbeaten in 2009.

Visalia El Diamante def. Visalia Mt. Whitney, 54-13
Running back Stefphon Jefferson had UCLA-committed lineman Greg Capella to thank for his career night. Capella earned Player of the Game honors after opening holes all evening for Jefferson, who had a 304-yard night, with 296 in the first half and 152 in the first quarter. Jefferson finished with three touchdowns in a 54-13 win and Capella and the rest of the ED line sat out the second half.

Los Osos def. Fontana Kaiser, 24-14
Thanks to another solid outing by UCLA-committed quarterback Richard Brehaut, the Grizzlies bounced back from their first loss to take out Kaiser by 10. Brehaut threw for 219 yards and an 18-yard touchdown pass in the win. Three-star running back Arby Fields also had a nice performance, running for 80 yards and a touchdown and catching four passes for 63 yards.

Corona Centennial def. Corona, 34-19
Corona kept it closer than Centennial expected, but the Huskies were able to escape with a double-digit win. UCLA's committed receiver, Ricky Marvray, scored on a six-yard touchdown reception and senior running back prospect Arthur Burns ran for 115 yards and a touchdown. Corona's 2010 running back Jordan James ran for 214 yards and two touchdowns, continuing his big junior season. Nebraska commit Taylor Martinez threw for 232 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a 66-yard touchdown for Centennial.
