Friday Football Preview: Week 5

A big game that involves a number of UCLA recruits will be televised on Fox Spors Net Prime Ticket tonight, and a couple of UCLA-committed players are expected to return from injury, including Bishop Amat linebacker Isaiah Bowens...

Here is a look at games involving UCLA commits and recruits in Week Five of the prep football season.

Game of the Week:
Pomona Diamond Ranch at La Puente Bishop Amat on FSN Prime Ticket at 7:30
A big game in the San Gabriel Valley pits two of UCLA's commits against one of its chief targets. Bishop Amat is led by Bruin verbals Sheldon Price at cornerback and Isaiah Bowens at linebacker. Bowens could be back tonight from a broken leg. UCLA is also recruiting Amat linebacker/safety Brent Seals. Diamond Ranch counters with one of UCLA's primary recruiting targets, cornerback Brandon Sermons, in a game that will be televised regionally.

West Ranch at Los Osos
The Grizzlies, led by UCLA committed quarterback Richard Brehaut, face their final non-conference foe when they welcome Santa Clarita West Ranch, who's led by running back/cornerback Ross Bacon, a 2009 prospect who's interested in UCLA, and quarterback Jake Bernard, a two-sport athlete, who's also a top baseball recruit.

Glendale at Arcadia
UCLA commit Todd Golper will be back tonight for the Apaches as they face Glendale in a matchup with huge Pacific League implications. Golper has been out the past two games with a foot injury he suffered in game two, but looks to be back against Glendale in a game that could cripple their league title hopes while bolstering Arcadia's. Golper will start on defense and could see some time on offense.

Corona Centennial at Corona Roosevelt
Upstart Roosevelt, 3-1, will host the #1 team in the Inland Division, Centennial, in a Big VIII matchup. Roosevelt is paced by elite 2010 receivers Austin Hill and Tyler Slavin and sleeper 2009 cornerback Immanuel Mitchell. The Huskies counter with one of the most talented teams in the country, led by senior receiver Ricky Marvray, a commit to UCLA and Bruin target Will Sutton on the defensive line.

Notre Dame at Servite
A few prospects that UCLA is keeping tabs on will go head-to-head in a big Pac-5 showdown. Unbeaten Notre Dame, led by 2010 quarterback Ryan Kasdorf and 2009 linebacker recruit Jordan Barrett, visit Servite, paced by 2009 cornerback prospect Bijon Samoodi and 2010 lineman Matthew Jakubiec.

Other UCLA Offers in Action
Las Vegas Silverado and Keenan Graham will host Henderson Foothill. Reno McQueen and LB Kyle Van Noy host Elko.
