Recap of UCLA Recruits on Friday

UCLA's committed linebacker, Todd Golper from Arcadia, had a big day -- and mostly on the ofensive side of the ball, while his fellow committed Bruin, Los Osos quarterback Richard Brehaut, had close to as many rushing yards as he did passing yards...

Here is a look at games that involved UCLA commits and recruits in Week Five of the prep football season.

Game of the Week: La Puente Bishop Amat def. Pomona Diamond Ranch, 17-6
In the FSN Game of the Week, the Lancers continued to roll since a season-opening loss, limiting Diamond Ranch to 146 yards. The Lancers welcomed back UCLA commit Isaiah Bowens to the lineup, after he missed the first four games with a broken leg and a stout defense that also featured UCLA commit Sheldon Price and Bruin recruit Brent Seals, had their best defensive performance of the season. Seals had nine tackles, Price had a couple as did Bowens. For Diamond Ranch, UCLA target Brandon Sermons was rarely tested.

Los Osos def West Ranch, 35-7
The Grizzlies jumped out to a 28-0 second quarter lead and never looked back to win their final non-league game. UCLA commit Richard Brehaut was 15-for-23 for 138 yards and senior running back Arby Fields has 126 yards on 21 carries and scored all five of the Grizzlies touchdowns.

Arcadia def. Glendale, 22-6
With their captain, Todd Golper, back in the lineup after being out with a foot injury, the Apaches rolled to a win over Glendale, thanks largely to Golper. Offensively, Golper had three touchdowns, scoring on a 3-yard run, a 32-yard reception and a 66-yard reception, in a limited role. Defensively, he had 12 tackles to keep Arcadia unbeaten in league play.

Corona Centennial def. Corona Roosevelt, 38-7
Despite an improving Roosevelt facing them, Centennial continued to show why they are the #1-ranked team in the Inland Division, cruising to a 38-7 win over Roosevelt. UCLA commit Ricky Marvray was held out of the end zone, but he still passed the century mark, catching five passes for 103 yards while Nebraska commit Taylor Martinez passed for 190 yards and ran for 41 yards and a score. But the night was owned by senior back Arthur Burns, who ran for 150 yards on 19 carries and scored four touchdowns.

Corona Santiago def. Riverside Poly, 56-20
Santiago's junior quarterback Brandon Connette had 279 yards of total offense, threw two touchdowns and ran for two more to lead the Sharks to their best offensive game of the year. UCLA recruit Marlion Barnett had a couple of receptions, Bruin recruit Sean Martin had a 32-yard touchdown catch and a 55-yard pick-six and the Sharks amassed 535 yards in offense.

Paso Robles def. Visalia El Diamante, 34-10
In one of the more surprising results in California this weekend, Southern Section Paso Robles went up to Visalia and stunned #2-ranked El Diamante. Turnovers killed the Miners, despite Greg Capella and the offensive line opening up the ground game for over 200 yards, 176 coming from Stefphon Jefferson. But three interceptions, which Paso Robles turned into points, handed El Diamante its first loss.
