Here is a look at games involving UCLA commits and recruits in Week Six of the prep football season.
Game of the Week: Los Flores Tesoro vs. Mission Viejo on FSN Prime Ticket at 7:30
The South Coast League title is likely on the line when Tesoro, who snapped Mission's long league-streak last year, goes for two in a row over the unbeaten Diablos. Tesoro welcomed Boise State commit John Michael Davis back into the lineup from an elbow injury in their last game, and come in unbeaten. The Diablos, led by UCLA commit Alex Mascarenas at corner and receiver and Cal commit Allan Bridgford at quarterback, look to stay unbeaten and in the mix for the Southern California D-I bowl with a win.
La Puente Bishop Amat vs. La Canada St. Francis
There will be talent on both sides of the ball as the surging Lancers, who's defense was strengthened with the return of UCLA commit Isaiah Bowens to the lineup, take on St. Francis. Amat also boasts UCLA commit Sheldon Price at cornerback and recruit Brent Seals at linebacker. St. Francis features one of the elite 2010 prospects around, two-way threat Dietrich Riley, who boasts an offer from UCLA, and quarterback Justin Sciarra, the son of former UCLA quarterback John Sciarra.
Alta Loma at Los Osos
In their final test before they play Upland next week, Los Osos will host neighboring Alta Loma in their Baseline League opener. Quarterback Richard Brehaut, a UCLA commit, was solid in the Grizzlies last game, and the emergence of Arby Fields at running back has given Los Osos another dimension to their offense.
Arcadia at Pasadena
UCLA commit Todd Golper returned to the lineup last week, and scored three touchdowns on offense, despite a limited role, and had 12 tackles on defense. He's continuing to work into the shape he was in before he injured his foot and tonight the Apaches visit Pasadena, in their final matchup before longtime nemesis Muir next week.
Riverside King at Corona Centennial
King has a big test when they go on the road against Centennial. King's top prospect is offensive lineman Will Prescott, a 2009 lineman with an offer from Washington State who camped at UCLA. Centennial counters with UCLA commit Ricky Marvray at receiver and recruit Will Sutton at defensive tackle, as well as the top middle linebacker in the nation in Vontaze Burfict, a USC commit.
Visalia El Diamante at Lemoore
After suffering a surprising loss last week to Paso Robles, El Diamante, behind offensive lineman Greg Capella, a UCLA commit, and running back Stefphon Jefferson return to Central Section play when they visit Lemoore.
