Neuheisel Video and Practice Report

There was an injury to a starter on the offensive line Tuesday at practice, and the situation continues to look thin at defensive end due to injuries. Head Coach Rick Neuheisel spoke about the practice, and the preparation for Cal...

Starting freshman offensive tackle Jeff Baca pulled his left hamstring at the end of practice, and his status is unknown.

Cornerback Alterraun Verner was in a red, no-hit jersey but is expected to be fine.

Receiver/punt returner Ryan Graves had a pulled hamstring and sat out practice. Terrence Austin resumed punt-return duties.

Offensive tackle Mike Harris got reps tonday at right tackle with the first-string ahead of Micah Kia, even before Baca was injured, so it was unrelated to Baca's injury.

Running back Kahlil Bell is still not considered 100%.

Defensive end Reggie Stokes will have surgery for a meniscus tear in his knee and will be out for a few weeks. David Carter was moved back to defensive end for depth.

The defensive ends now are Datone Jones and Korey Bosworth at starters, with Carter, Justin Edison and Chinonso Anyanwu.

Ben Olson threw a couple of balls in drills, but mostly watched from the sideline, or threw on the side.

Running back Raymond Carter is still not 100%. He took a couple of snaps but not many.

Freshman quarterback Kevin Prince has now taken over scout team duties, and provided better quality competition for the first-string defense.

The OL and DL faced on in one-on-ones. Harris looked good, winning a number of reps (and we don't know if that's what inspired some reps with the ones later in practice). Edison looks like he's still a bit away from contributing significantly.
