But by the time the conversation was done, Allmond had committed to the Bruins.
"I talked to Coach Moses the first five minutes then he said that Coach (Rick) Neuheisel wanted to talk to me. I thought 'maybe he's going to offer me' and he did. Honestly, I was jumping all around when I was talking to him. He offered me and I accepted it," said Allmond.
And with that, Allmond gets to continue being a Bruin.
"I've been a Bruin my whole life, since like I was seven playing Pop Warner and now for the Bloomington Bruins," said Allmond.
Allmond had been to every UCLA home game, sans the Arizona game, and the conversations with the coaches had been pretty positive.
"Really, I did kind of expect it because I was there for most of the games and was talking to the coaches and they said they liked me but they were making sure they could get me into school from my transcripts and all that. So when they said they could get me into school, they offered me," said Allmond. "They made me feel like I was wanted the whole time."
Allmond also had an offer from Nevada, as a linebacker, but UCLA wants Allmond to play fullback, where he's a top 10 prospect nationally.
"Coach Neuheisel and Coach Moses said they want me as a fullback. They were really excited to get me. I'm very excited too. I went through the whole process and I thought about it and my future and I didn't want to go too far from home," said Allmond.
