"Arizona was nice," said Hilliard. "It's a college town and was definitely a little more laid back."
Hilliard had two hosts on his visits, both freshmen from out of state.
"I was hosted by (fellow Hawaii native) Solomon Koehler and Keola Antolin, the running back," said Hilliard. "Coach Tui (Mike Tuiasosopo) is recruiting me for Arizona and I got to meet with Coach (Mike) Stoops."
Hilliard was in town for the Wildcats' night game with USC, and the atmosphere there made an impression.
"They had a great atmosphere at the game and that was something that stood out to me," said Hilliard. "They had a great student fan base at the game."
With that trip under his belt, Hilliard is now closing in on a decision.
"I'm near the decision," said Hilliard. "I'm going to wait a little while till I get home and talk it over with my family a little more."
Despite having two more available official visits, Hilliard's decision to make a commitment in the very near future has put those plans away.
"That was my last trip, I'm ready to make a decision," said Hilliard.
UCLA, where Hilliard visited a week ago, is the favorite to land a commitment from Hilliard, and it was further strengthened this week, when his teammate, receiver Roby Toma, received an offer from the Bruins.
"Roby and I are really good friends and I was really excited when it happened," said Hilliard. "I told Coach (Norm) Chow about him but he had to show them himself he could play, which I knew he would, and he definitely impressed them."
So now Hilliard will convene with his family and see if a decision is coming soon.
"I think it's going to definitely happen this week. It's possible it could be on Tuesday or Wednesday," said Hilliard.
