Here is a look at games involving UCLA commits and recruits from Week Nine of the prep football season.
Game of the Week: Corona Centennial def. Corona Santiago, 42-30
Centennial clinched the Big VIII title with a 12-point win over Santiago, and keep them in line for a state championship bowl berth. Nebraska-bound quarterback Taylor Martinez threw for 234 yards and two touchdowns, running back Arthur Burns ran for 151 and two touchdowns and UCLA commit Ricky Marvray went over the 100-yard mark again in the win. For Santiago, Brandon Connette, their junior quarterback, threw three touchdowns and ran for one.
Bishop Amat def. Crespi, 22-21
UCLA commits Isaiah Bowens and Sheldon Price both chipped in four tackles, and Bowens added a sack, and the Lancers went ahead on a gutsy 2-point conversion to edge the Celts by a point and keep their playoff hopes alive. Crespi junior quarterback Bryan Bennett threw for 153 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown to senior receiver Kevin Cummings, but some crucial turnovers in crunch time hurt the Celts.
Los Osos def. Claremont, 41-14
Los Osos kept their Baseline League title hopes alive by beating Claremont in a rout. The win keeps Los Osos in the mix for a tri-league title, but they'll need a win against Etiwanda and Upland to beat Rancho Cucamonga. UCLA commit Richard Brehaut threw for 252 yards and four touchdowns in the win.
Burbank def. Arcadia, 29-22
Arcadia's biggest loss came with the injury to UCLA commit Todd Golper, who suffered a season-ending knee injury. Before the injury in the second quarter, Golper had six tackles.
Mission Viejo def. Dana Hills, 45-31
Cal-committed quarterback Allan Bridgford threw for 266 yards, including a 42-yard strike to UCLA-committed two-way threat Alex Mascarenas to rally the Diablos from a 17-0 deficit and win 45-31.
Punahou def. Kamehamaha, 21-14
UCLA commit Dalton Hilliard ran for 100 yards on 24 carries, and scored two touchdowns and UCLA commit Roby Toma added seven receptions for 100 yards as Punahou beat Kamehamaha.
Visalia El Diamante def. Hanford, 31-14
El Diamante won the West Yosemite League title with a 17-point win over Hanford. Stefphon Jefferson ran for 149 yards and three touchdowns and Greg Capella had a handful of pancakes to spring Jefferson on his three scores. The win also keeps El Diamante in line for the top overall seed in the CIF-Central Section.
Norte Vista def. Bloomington, 14-13
UCLA commit Jayson Allmond had five tackles and had five receptions but the Bruins didn't get anything else going and dropped the league game.
Pomona Diamond Ranch at Wilson
Diamond Ranch, led by UCLA commit Brandon Sermons in the secondary, can also keep its slim playoff hopes alive with a win over Wilson.
Notre Dame def. Loyola, 34-0
Notre Dame, behind junior quarterback Ryan Kasdorf, routed Loyola to stay unbeaten. Kasdorf threw for 279 on 16-of-21 passing and four touchdowns, three to James Flynn, who had five catches for 91 yards. Anthony Barr went over 100 yards in the loss.
