Riley to Visit UCLA

Kind of like an official visit for a recruit, Mike Riley will visit UCLA on Sunday. Two other candidates for the head coaching position will interview with UCLA athletic director Dan Guerrero...

Mike Riley, the defensive backs coach for the New Orleans Saints, will visit UCLA's campus and meet with UCLA chancellor Albert Carnesale, according to sources.

The former Oregon State and San Diego Charger head coach has been formerly offered the head coaching job at Alabama, his alma mater. If UCLA offers Riley the UCLA job Sunday while on campus, Riley very well could decided between the two schools by next week.

Two coaches with UCLA connections will also interview with Dan Guerrero. Denver Broncos wide receiver coach and former Bruin player, Karl Dorrell, is expected to meet with Guerrero within the next couple of days. Former UCLA assistant coach and current defensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs, Greg Robinson, will also meet with Guerrero soon.

The other potential candidates that are still being mentioned in UCLA circles who could garner at least interviews are former Oregon and Los Angeles Rams coach Rick Brooks, and Washington State head coach Mike Price.

This is not to say that this is an exclusive list of coaches Dan Guerrero is considering, but merely the coaches sources indicate could be the furthest along in the consideration process.
