New Offer For Malcolm Jones

Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian running back Malcolm Jones, one of the elite prospects in the class of 2010, gets another Pac-10 offer from an in-state program...

UCLA is finally making Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian a priority.

The Bruin staff, which offered Christopher Coyle, a tight end in the 2009 class, who's committed to Arizona State, and 2010 offensive lineman Erik Kohler, offered arguably the best prospect on their team from the talented junior class.

"I got offered by UCLA," said elite 2010 running back Malcolm Jones.

The offer to Jones shows a new effort out of Westwood at Oaks Christian. Aaron Ware is the lone Lion to sign with UCLA.

And in the process, the Bruin staff has joined four other schools in offering Jones, who may be the best all-around back in the Golden State.

"I have five offers now," said Jones. "Arizona, Colorado, Oregon and Stanford (are the others)."

Jones and the Lions just wrapped up their sixth consecutive CIF-SS title, beating Gardena Serra in the Northwest Division finals.

The 6-0, 210-pound Jones had over 300 yards in offense and finished the 2008 season with 1,500 yards rushing and 26 touchdowns.
