Norvel Pelle, 6-8 SO PF Compton (Calif.) Dominguez, is one of the top young post prospects in the class of 2011. While Pelle has received limited minutes to date at Dominguez (after transferring from Lakewood HS), he showed all the signs last summer of being a potential big-time player down the road. He's got excellent length and quickness, along with above average skills. He also showed very good toughness for a slender young kid.

I spoke with Pelle recently and asked him about the colleges that have been expressing interest in him.

"USC, UCLA, Oregon and Texas have been the main ones," said Pelle. "USC and Texas have offered."

I asked Pelle if any school stands out for him at the moment.

"USC – they've been aggressively recruiting me," said Pelle.

Pelle mentioned a couple factors that he'll be looking at when it comes time to make his decision.

"The academics are important," said Pelle. "And then also how good the team is. I don't really care about the location."

Pelle said he's a long way from choosing a school.

"I'll probably wait until my senior year to make a decision," said Pelle.
