OK DT is Excited About Coach

Chadd Evans, 6-3, 254, 4.8, Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washingtonm is looking forward to playing for new Bruin head coach Karl Dorrell, and he is keeping himself very busy hitting the hardwood now that football season is over.

 

UCLA has been keeping in contact with Evans though the entire coaching shuffle. "I have been talking to Don Johnson and one of the assistant athletic directors called me. I'm just excited. It's a new time at UCLA, and I fell like we are going to be a great team this coming year."

 

Evans was very happy to share his thoughts on Dorrell. "I'm very excited. He is a guy who's played and who's coached on all the different levels. He can not only coach you in college, but he can tell you what it takes to get to become an NFL player. I'm sure he knows the work ethic that a person needs to become an NFL player."

 

When asked what he is doing now that football season is completed, Evans said, "Just having fun. I am into basketball right now. So I am playing a little hoops and enjoying myself." Evans is the starting point guard on the Washington varsity. "I'm averaging about seven points, eight assists and five rebounds. I love to share the rock. Everybody else can score. I like to get them the ball."

 

BRO asked Evans if his good friend and teammate, Robert Meachem, TheInsiders.com No. 5 rated wide receiver, would be coming out to visit UCLA with him. "That's what I am waiting to hear," Evans said. "I do think he wants to come out for a visit. We are trying to set it up for the same weekend so we can come together." Evans said that Meachem was just at his house about ten minutes before our call.

 

Evans mentioned it was snowing outside and was very cold. "We have had problems with phones, it has been so cold here. A lot of the systems are not working." When he was informed that it was 65 degrees and sunny in Los Angeles, he responded, "You don't think I want to be there?"
