D-Tackle Intrigued by UCLA

The 6-4, 280-pound defensive tackle prospect, Sharrif Floyd from Philadelphia, Penn., is one of the hottest recruits in his region right now after a great combine performance recently. He talks about the schools he's interested in, and being intrigued with UCLA...

George Washington High School defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd has a lot going on for him in recruiting right now, but the 6-foot-3.5, 280-pound athlete is trying to keep his emotions in check and take a professional and methodical approach to recruiting. Tonight he walked us through his offer list and spoke briefly about his thoughts and plans.

"I currently have offers from Rutgers, Temple, UCLA, Penn State, Stanford, Maryland and FIU," Floyd said. "Out of those Rutgers, UCLA, Stanford and Penn State are the four that are standing out the most right now. With Stanford you have excellent academics, with Rutgers I just love the total package, Penn State brings awesome tradition and coaching and UCLA is just a school that really intrigues me."

"Illinois, Georgia, Michigan and Wisconsin are definitely the four schools that haven't offered me that are talking to me the most right now," Floyd explained. "I like all of these schools and before I get too caught up into any one of them I want to get out and take visits. I feel like forming solid opinions without taking visits is being unfair to myself and the school, so that's what I'm focusing on."

"I'm going to go to Georgia over spring break and then am going to try and make a Midwest swing to check out Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin," Floyd offered. "Then in the summer I hope to get down to Florida, Florida State, Miami and FIU as well as UCLA and USC."
