"I have a UNLV offer and then I went to Arizona State's Junior Day, UCLA has been contacting me a lot, Colorado, I recently got a letter from Nebraska, Arizona, Stanford, Kansas State and I got a handwritten letter from Harvard," said Godkin.
Godkin was at Arizona State's Junior Day this past weekend.
"It was amazing," said Godkin. "It was really, really nice. The facilities were top of the line, and they have a lot of great things to offer. The coaching staff is incredible and they treat their players really well. I really liked it there. I talked with Coach (Matt) Lubick, the defensive line coach Grady Stretz and then Coach (Dennis) Erickson for a little bit. They like me as a defensive end. They didn't say they were going to offer, but I think they might in May when they come down to see me."
Next up for Godkin is a visit to Los Angeles to unofficially visit UCLA.
"I'm going to one of their Junior Day's on April 25th then I'm going to their Spring Game at the Rose Bowl," said Godkin.
The Sun Devils and Bruins are standing out in Godkin's top five. "My top five schools are USC, I like them a lot, UCLA, Arizona State, Oregon and Florida," said Godkin. "UNLV is not a bad program, I went to a lot of their spring practices and it's a good and up-and-coming program. I would prefer the Pac-10 and going away from home is good."
Godkin said he weighed 220 at this point, but has a goal for his weight by fall. "I want to be 235 by fall time," said Godkin. "I prefer defensive end but I played linebacker all through Pop Warner, so if a college wants me to try it out, I'll try it. Hitting is not a problem. I can get in there and hit somebody so I'd be fine with linebacker."
Godkin is planning on camping at the Nike Camp this spring, Arizona State's camp and USC's Rising Stars Camp.
This past year, he had 90 tackles, six sacks, recovered five fumbles and blocked two punts for Palo Verde. He earned Second Team All-State honors and First Team All-Region selection as both a defensive end and offensive tackle, despite missing two games following hand surgery.
Academically, he has a GPA in the 3.5 to 3.7 range, and will take the SAT on May 7th.
