Top 300 safety Marquis Flowers from Goodyear (Az.) Millennium got an unexpected surprise today while on the phone with the UCLA staff.
Flowers got word that he had an offer, an offer he had some time ago and didn't know.
Flowers explains, "I was on the phone with Coach Lake and he asked if I had received their offer in the mail yet. I said I had't yet and he informed me that I had an offer with UCLA."
Flowers (6-2 190) also has been offered by Arizona State, Arizona, Colorado and Washington.
UCLA is a program Flowers is definitely interested in. Marquis says, "They saw my highlight and said they liked how I played. They think I can play on either side of the ball." He rushed for 932 yards and 8 TDs as on offense and made 87 tackles, 1 sack and 3 INTs as a safety.
He continues, "They invited me to Spring practice and I think I am probably going to go with my Dad. They have scrimmages over the next few weeks and I think I will go."
Other than a recent visit to Arizona State's junior day, Flowers' summer schedule is up in the air. "I am unsure of my schedule, it all depends on our schedule at Millennium but during the summer I plan to make some unofficial visits and go to some camps."
Although, Flowers does know when he will make his commitment. "I plan on committing at the US Army game," he comments.
But to which program is a whole other subject. "I will not name any favorites for a while," he notes.
Here are his junior highlights:
