Palmdale (Calif.) Highland defensive tackle Brendon Tago (6-1.5, 295) is one of the top prospects in the Antelope Valley area, and while he's still waiting for his first scholarship offer, he's staying in consistent contact with a host of schools.

"I don't have an offer yet, but I've been talking a lot with Arizona and UCLA and then San Diego State and hopefully Hawaii will offer," said Tago. "Arizona is looking at me for both sides of the ball and UCLA likes me as a defensive lineman."

Tago took in an unofficial visit to UCLA over the weekend.

"I was just at UCLA on Saturday for a scrimmage and it was a good experience," said Tago. "I got to meet the head coach, Rick Neuheisel. I had been there before with my school for a visit, but this was a lot different. I got to meet some of the players. Coach (Chuck) Bullough is recruiting me for UCLA."

The Bruins have long been Tago's favorite. "UCLA was my favorite school growing up," said Tago. "I'm open to anything, but my family would like me close to him. All I'm waiting for is that first offer."

Tago said he's considering taking some time and going through the recruiting process, but if the right offer came along, he'd be willing to jump on it. "I'm just looking for a good, full-ride opportunity," said Tago.

Tago said he'd be attending a host of camps and combines this spring. "I'm going to the Arizona camp, UCLA camp, the AIGA Foundation Camp and the Nike Camp and that's it," said Tago.

Tago said his current GPA is 2.8 but he's normally around a 3.3 GPA. He'll be taking the SAT and ACT next month.

During his 2008 season, he had 61 tackles.
